I hope you are enjoying the Christmas patch. The team worked hard to have it ready for you before the Christmas vacations start and we are delighted that we have finished it in time.
In the second half of 2018 we have now released three patches. Shaiya has struggled a bit in the first months of the year, but as I told you in the last producer letter, this time was needed to lay the groundwork for regular patches later. Our developers are getting more and more used to the code and the intricacies of Shaiya and our QA processes improved with each patch. It feels good that we can now start to reap the rewards.
So what will happen in 2019? While we want to keep up the rhythm and release at least 6-8 patches next year, we also have set our sights on some bigger projects, that can be built on the foundations of our work in 2018:
- merging the two Spanish servers
- bringing Episode 8 to the Spanish and Portuguese servers
- improving the PvP rewards system
- new dungeons and battlegrounds
- new quests and advancing the Shaiya story
- bugfixes, bugfixes, bugfixes
There is no timeline yet when we will introduce each of these projects, this will be discussed internally in January. Our next patch is planned to launch in February, as most of the team will be on vacation until early January. But don't worry: We will still take care of support requests during that time, even if it might take slightly longer than usual until you receive an answer.
See you again in 2019 and have a merry Christmas!
